Great news!
Great news! Heather is going to be baptized this Saturday, which is very exciting! This is big news because this area has not seen a baptism in a while!
Also, this week we had an awesome lesson with Amanda and Lee, and Lee has finally decided to quit smoking. He destroyed his cigarettes in front of us and we got a sick video of it. It was cool to see him do that. Amanda and Lee are awesome people.
We had an awesome lesson with Sam Perez. He is amazing. His family are all members, but he is not. He speaks better In Spanish than English so he never has understood the missionaries, but we were able to teach him in Spanish and he said "I want you guys to baptize me! I want to get baptized as soon as possible. When can I get baptized?" It was crazy. We were not expecting that! So we set a date with him for the 24th of February. We are excited about that because his mother-in-law told us that if he gets baptized his son, who is 20 years old, will also get baptized. It was really exciting!
We also just started working with this part member family and the kid that is not a member is amazing. He is 10 years old and he told us that he reads the Book of Mormon. We are trying to reactivate the mom so he can start coming to church and get baptized!
This area is blowing up right now! So much potential here. Last week we knocked on the door of the Mingo family and taught the mom and dad the restoration, and they loved it. They said they wanted us to come back to teach their children, so we came back. They have 4 children, 3 of baptismal age, and they are very smart! They loved the plan of salvation and told us they want to get baptized! The parents told us that they are looking for a church to join and they want to come to church so they can see if their kids should get baptized! It was a crazy miracle. They weren't able to come this week, but next week they should be coming so it's super exciting.
Missionary work is the best thing ever! To see people change and to see how the gospel strengthens families is amazing!
Here are some pic's from the week.
