Surprises
This week has been a good one in Louisiana. To start off the week I had frog legs and they were actually super good! It was very surprising.
But this week There has been a lot of surprises and I've been able to see a lot of fruits from our efforts here. We were able to find 15 new people to teach and we were able to set a couple of new people on date. We were able to have an amazing lesson with Heather. Last week we taught her the law of chastity and she did not want to get married, but this week we had an amazing lesson with her on the law of chastity and the spirit was very strong. Her boyfriend was not there to control the situation and and she said that she wants to get married. She talked to her boyfriend, but he didn't want to get married, so she is looking for a place to live now. It was soo cool and we are so excited for her. Her daughter is doing well and is still progressing toward baptism for the 16th of February. We are excited for them.
Also this week a part-member couple sent us a text and said "he is ready to do it... " We were confused by that so we asked what he meant. He said he was ready to get baptized. We were freaking out. ha ha
We were able to teach Lee a few times this week and set a marriage date/baptismal date for the 2nd of March. We are super excited about that. We were also able to teach this lady named Janet who has met with missionaries in the past and really likes what we teach. She told us that she knows that the Book of Mormon was true and that it completes the Bible. We taught her the plan of salvation and she knew everything already, it was crazy! We set a date with her for the 23rd of February and we are going to help her get there.
Its cool to see the fruits of our hard work and dedication. I really love Minden and all of the character it has. I literally have never seen more abandoned houses in my whole life. I have seen like 100 of them already, it's insane.
I am so glad to be out here serving a mission. It is the best thing ever. There is not a happier time than on the mission. If anyone is thinking about going, please pray about it and you will receive your answer.
