First week in Shreveport

Sorry for not writing a weekly email last week, but it was crazy. I received my transfer news that I was going to Shreveport, Louisiana, which is the farthest away you can go in our mission. haha It didn't help that I was in Oak Cliff, which is the farthest part of the mission on the opposite end of the map. ha ha It was crazy. We didn't get to our area until 9:00 pm.

My new companion is Elder Coca. He is a stud and we work well together. Me and Elder Coca tried to get caught up on what was going down in our area because we got doubled in so neither one of us were serving here before the transfer. The branch is amazing. They are super unified and have the vision, so we are pumped! There is a lot of potential here, so we are super excited to help the area grow!!

We started by talking with everyone we saw in the streets. It has been super fun and we have met some very interesting people. haha The people here in Louisiana are a lot different than the people in Texas haha But they are super friendly and receptive.

This week we saw a huge miracle. We got a book of Mormon referral from a lady named Heather and so we went and visited her and had a great lesson with her. We invited her and her husband to come to a baptismal service for a youth that was getting baptized. Heather came and brought her 21 year old daughter. After the baptism they walked up to us and said, "We want to get baptized!" It was so coo., haha We were like "ya, you can do thatm we just need to teach you a little bit." haha We pulled them aside and taught the restoration and while we were teaching them they were like, "Wow, do you feel that? I don't know how to explain it." haha It was so cool. We set a baptismal date with them for the 16th of February and we are pumped for them.

Another really cool lady that we met as well is this lady named Fe. She is the sweetest old lady I have ever met in my whole life. She is very pure and very receptive to the message we had for her. She is so cool.

I love the mission. The people here are super cool. There was a part member family that we met yesterday and we had an amazing lesson with them. The whole family are members except the father and he is really cool, so we are excited to help them.

Here are some pictures of goats.  ha ha
