Mother's Day

This week was a great one!!! It started off with an exchange in Quitman. It was awesome because I was with Elder Waiwaioli from Hawaii. What are the odds of that? It was a blast and we found a few new investigators. I love exchanges because you get to see other people and areas in the zone which is super cool.

We also had zone conference this week and it was so cool! We talked a lot on faith and President Dalton shared some super cool stories about humility. In this story he was backpacking with a guide and they entered into the silverback gorilla territory! At one point this huge 600 pound gorilla starts walking up to him. Immediately the guild says, bow down and show him that he is the alpha. Show your respect to him. Immediately all of the people fell straight down, some bowing and some laying straight on the ground with their faces in the dirt. But one man was so busy taking photos that he didn't listen to the guide, and the gorilla continued to come towards him aggressively. Finally, at the last second, he humbled himself and bow down!

I thought this story was just like us. Some of us immediately bow down and show respect. Some lay down and completely humble ourselves. But some of us are too distracted and busy with other things that we may lose our way and have hardships until we finally humble ourselves before the Lord. I thought that was the coolest story ever! It was a great zone conference.

Later in the week we did some service and dug holes for a few hours, which was tough in the heat! But the person we helped dig holes for is a less active and because of our help he came to church and so did his grandchildren and his daughter, who has not been to church in years!!! It's cool to see how service can open people's hearts without saying a word. I have grown a testimony of service. It is awesome!

This week we found some really cool people. We found a lady named Natalya and Makenzie, who are both 16 and are super interested. We taught them the restoration and read the Book of Mormon with them. They are awesome. We also found a lady named Amy with six kids this week, which is such a miracle. We will see where that goes! And also Ranita came to church again. She loves church! Her kids are coming too. It's awesome. We are super excited about her.

It has been a great week. I challenge y'all to serve others and help them. Also those who have their patriarchal blessing,  please read it consistently. It is a guide for your life and if you haven't gotten one, go get it! It is the best.

Also, shout out to my mother. It was so cool talking to my family! They have all changed.
