The Marshallese know how to party!

This week we had our first BBQ with the Marshallese people. It finally happened, and boy was it fun. It reminded me of the good old days in Hawaii. Three Marshallese families came. We had some music going, and threw some Frisbees around, and played some pogs. The kids loved that. Of course they brought a million pounds of chicken so they were just grilling food forever. It was so cool. I didn't know you could fit that much chicken into a cooler. One of the families brought a huge thing of Dr. Pepper and Mtn. Dew and then another one brought a huge thing of rice and potato salad and watermelon. It was such a success and some good fellowship happened. We are planning to do another one in two weeks, which will be really fun. We are going to double the amount of families!

They wanted us to take all of the drinks home so we took home like 40 cans of soda. It was insane. We made an awesome soda pyramid. ha ha

Funny story . . . so while we were at the BBQ, I was like, "Watch this!" to all of the little kids and then we chased these geese into the water. Suddenly, right and out of the water pops an EGG. I  literally scared an egg out of a goose. The little kids were freaking out. It was nuts. ha ha

This week started off great. We went on splits in our area with the zone leaders and we had a lot of success and were able to find some new investigators and have some much needed lessons with some of the people that have fallen off of the face of the earth. Elder Sutton and I were able to get in contact with Pam and have a great lesson with her and address some of the things she is having a hard time believing. She is reading and praying about it and so we are continuing to pray that she finds an answer!

We were also able to do a blitz in De Queen in my old area before it split, and I got to teach in Spanish so I finally got to practice my skills. I learned a lot that day. It was super fun!!! But then unfortunately I got sick, and not just kind of sick, but pretty dang sick. We had to stay at the apartment all day and I literally slept it off all day and night.

The next day we bounced back and had a great day. We ended up going over to visit this Marshallese guy, Keyeo, who is super cool and is interested in learning more about the gospel. His son was really sick and had been screaming and crying all day because he was not feeling good. We told Keyeo that we could give him a blessing. We explained it to him and told him that it could heal him. He told us, yes we could, and so I had the opportunity to give this little kid, who I would say is about three years old, a blessing. While I was giving him the blessing he was just screaming and crying the whole time. Honestly, I couldn't even hear myself speaking. After the blessing Keyeo told us to come back the next day. When we got there Keyeo was super excited to see us and he told us that our blessing worked. He said that an hour after we gave him a blessing he was all better. It was such a miracle!!! Then Keyeo said he read the pamphlet that we gave him and felt really good so we showed him some scriptures about Jesus Christ getting baptized and invited him to be baptized on the 20th of May. We will see how that goes!!

Later in the week we got a warning to watch out for tornados. We didn't take it seriously because it never happens. As we were driving home these weird clouds started forming and and the wind started blowing and the rain started falling. We stocked up on snacks and hurried home and had to stay in the apartment for the rest of the night because the tornado hit in De Queen, which is about 45 min away from us.

We had seven investigators at church this week. It was awesome. Also a woman came who was covered in Tattoos. After sacrament a member came up to us and said, "Hey, this is my sister and she needs a blessing. She wants someone who doesn't know her to give her a blessing to see if they are truly in tune with the Holy Ghost. So we go into a classroom and she pointed to me and said, "I want him to give me the blessing." So I gave her a blessing, and wow, was it crazy how I was guided by the spirit. It was so cool. After the blessing the spirit was super strong in the room and she was bawling and I was crying too. Hopefully she will come back to church next week. That was one of the coolest things I have done. To not know her at all, and then to give her a blessing and be able to feel like I did know her is probably one of the coolest feelings that I have ever felt!!

Later that day Johnny wanted us to come over and have his famous ribs that he always talks about and it was really good. We talked to Debra and Johnny about the word of wisdom and asked how it was coming. Debra is having a really hard time giving up coffee and won't be able to be baptized on the 29th of April. But johnny is so ready to be baptized and is almost done with the Book of Mormon. He is praying to know if he should get baptized without Debra and so we will see what happens.

It was a great week here in Idabel! I just want to share my testimony on the power of the priesthood and that it really truly does work miracles. That same authority that Jesus Christ and his apostles had are back on the earth today working miracles!

I can never deny the power of God. He can do anything and we can do anything according to our faith. We can heal the sick. We can make the blind see, and we can raise the dead. We can do anything according to our faith and God's will. If any one of you need a blessing,  please ask for one.

And everyone, read the Book of Mormon every day. It has truly changed me in so many different ways!!

Love ya'll. I'm fixin to head out now.

Love,

Elder Wyatt Frampton
