Don't let Satan stop you
This week was awesome!! A super cool week full of service and cool people!! First, we were able to do some good old service for Brother Frackrell, the legend! We burned wood and moved wood and enjoyed some time with his dogs. It made me miss my dog, Lulu.
And this week our landlord Brother Hammond, aka bro hammer, called us and told us he wanted us to be the witnesses and his wedding. And so we got to go back down to Da Queen and it was sweet and it was hilarious. I thought it was going to be a wedding with the whole shabang, but no, it was like a Las Vegas wedding without the Las Vegas. They signed the papers and someone married them and that was it. haha
But this week we had a really good lesson on the Word of Wisdom with Johnny and Debra and it was super spiritual. It was sweet. They are the coolest people. Debra has made goals to stop drinking coffee so keep her in your prayers. It has been hard for her to stop! But she's got this!!!
This week we went to mutual with the youth and they were playing basketball. Some of the youth brought their non-member friends so we got to know them a little by playing b-ball with them. We are going to do something every week and are going to have the youth continue to bring their non member friends. It will be sweet! It will be a good way to start teaching them!
Also this week we met the coolest less active member ever. He is Marshallese and he is a legend on the Marshall Islands. He was friends with this guy whose mom was the Queen of the Marshall Islands and this queen gave all of her land up to be able to build Mormon churches. So he helped the church grow a lot there and then moved here and gradually stopped coming to church, but has never lost his faith. He is going to help us meet the Marshallese people and is going to help the BBQ get going that we have been planning for a while. It should actually happen this week, but he is like the mayor, you could say, of the Marshallese people here in Oklahoma and is going to help the work a lot. I'm pumped!
This week I have realized how hard Satan works to stop people from progressing. Our baptismal date said that she was not going to go to church because her husband would leave her if she did, and also the Baker family, who was progressing, got sick and so they couldn't go to church! It's crazy how hard Satan works, but that is also another testament to me that this church is true and that this gospel is truly the only way to find happiness. I have seen that in my life and in the people out here in Oklahoma.
Don't let Satan stop you from reaching your full potential. Whatever negative thoughts or doubts that are going on in your mind, don't let that get you down.
Have a great week.
