Time is FLYING
This week has been a good one. Time is flying. I can't believe that I have already been training for 5 weeks. This week we found some really good investigators. Sad news though. We got a text from Bailey's husband and he said that they are going to a Baptist church now, which was a bummer. I don't know what happened. It was so out of the blue and was quite shocking honestly. But it's ok, hopefully some time in the future.
We got to decorate a tree at the mall for St. Patrick's Day this week. ha ha
This week we had a really cool experience with this girl names Nicole, who is a single mother and is trying to find a job. We talked to her and she said she hasn't prayed in a long time so we explained prayer to her and she prayed right there on the spot. It was so cool. Then a few days later she messaged us and told us that while she is praying she feels the presence of Jesus Christ and she does not want to stop having that feeling. It was so cool to hear that and to see her faith grow in the power of prayer.
This week we met this really cool guy named Larry who is always smiling and interested In hearing more about the church. Later in the week we went by his house to see how he was doing and he has been reading the Book of Mormon and he said it is really interesting and he is learning a lot of things he never knew. It was really cool. We also stopped by Charlie's and he said, "would you guys be surprised if I read half of the book of Mormon in 5 days? I was like "there is no way you can do that." So he said he will half of the Book of Mormon done by Thursday. haha It was awesome. We will see if he does it or not (fingers crossed).
Johnny and Debra, the ones I went up to Beaver's Bend with CAME TO CHURCH THIS WEEK. They have never come to church the whole time I have been here, but they really hit it off with some of the members here and came for fast and testimony meeting. It was amazing. One of the most powerful testimony meetings I have ever been to. It was so cool. There was some really cool miracles that happened and johnny who has had a hard time reading the Book of Mormon came up to us and told us he found a good way to do it. He listens to it while he walks on the track and he is all the way to Jacob and is making some really big strides. It has been so cool! They are happy and smiling and laughing. That is easily my favorite part about a mission is to see people's lives change.
We had a really cool experience with a couple of new investigators. One didn't understand how if a baby dies they are automatically going to hell. We explained to her that that is not true and left her with a chapter to read in the Book of Mormon. Then a family let us in and fed us and told us they have done some research about the Mormons and are looking for a church with a really good youth program. Wo we started talking about our youth program and what happens at the church. Then they asked us what do you believe about what happens after this life? So we told them our beliefs and showed them some scriptures and they were shocked. They have read the Bible so many times, and apparently he is super smart and got like a 33 on the ACT, but he said, "you Elders actually taught me something new." The spirit was strong so hopefully we will be able to meet with them again.
It's soooo cool to read the Book of Mormon and the Bible and to be able to learn more and find answers to questions that you have. If any one of you guys have questions, turn to the scriptures. The answers are there, I can promise you that. Have a great week everyone.

P.S. Coolest this just happened. I finished writing and sent all my letters and then I sat down on a couch at the library and started reading my scriptures when this girl walked up to me with crutches and asked me if I was reading my Bible and what church I went to. I told her and said what about you? She said she is Baptist and we got talking. She was so cool and told me that she broke her femur. I was like, "no way! Me too!" Then she started cracking dad jokes and so I fired some back. You know how much I love dad jokes. ha ha Then she said she has been taught in the past by Mormons and doesn't know why she stopped. I ended up teaching her the plan of salvation and she thought it was so cool. We ended up helping her get to her apartment and she told us that it is a miracle she is here. She had cerebral palsy and had only a 5 percent chance of living. She said "Maybe I'm meant to be a Mormon." It was so cool. We will see where this goes.
