Off Roading

This week was another good one. A lot of good things are happening here in Idabel. A lot of interesting people out here, it's so cool. haha

This week this lady called us to give her a blessing. She lives out in the boonies, or the sticks is another way you could say it. ha ha While we were driving there the GPS told us to turn and so I followed the directions. BIG MISTAKE. The road kept getting narrower and narrower until it literally became a four wheeler trail. The road was super muddy and we were losing traction, but there was no way to turn around. It was crazy! We just had to keep driving because if we stopped we would get stuck in the mud and that would've been awful. haha Of course during the most intense part of the four wheeler trail the APs called. We answered and said, "Right now is not a good time. We are going to die." ha ha It was funny, but good news . . . everyone made it out alive.

Finally we made it to the ladies house to give her a blessing. She is about to go blind. First she called us back and started telling us stories, then she said, "Is the Elder from Hawaii here?" I told her, yes I am here. She said she was hoping I was there and she wanted me to give her the blessing and so I did. It was the most unique blessing that I have ever given. It was really cool and the spirit was super strong. She told me that during the last blessing I gave her I told her that her dad loved her, and afterwards she had a dream that her dad came up to her and told her how much he loved her. She said, "It meant so much to me because he has never said that to me in my whole life," It was really cool how she can see through her.

This week me and my comp had a cool experience. We got to do a funeral and we got to go up and bear our testimonies.  It was actually a really amazing experience.

Great news! Nicolle is reading the Book of Mormon and she got a job! She is so happy and is praying every day and is progressing. It's awesome.

This week we had an amazing lesson with the couple that we are teaching. They have been getting the lessons from the missionaries for a long time and have had a hard time dealing with the concept of modern day prophets.  We asked them what is holding them back and they didn't really know. They said, "When we started to read the Book of Mormon we thought it was just another book and that someone must have gone through a lot of trouble to write all this, but the more we read it, the more we realize that this is not just another book." We asked them if they found out the Book of Mormon was true would they commit to the gospel and without hesitation they said yes! It was so amazing. They want to finish the Book of Mormon and they read a lot every day. Johnny came to church again, this time by himself. Our topic for class just happened to be on modern day prophets, which was nuts. haha! After class Johnny came up and said, "You guys set that up, right?" I was like, what are you talking about? That was honestly what we were supposed to teach today, and he told us that he really liked it a lot of it made sense to him this time! It was so cool. I was shocked.

It's crazy how things work sometimes, and this week was a good one, full of cool experiences!

Keep reading and praying you guys Love y'all. Keep them in your prayers!!
