Merry Christmas--I'm heading to Arkansas

This week has been a good week and super fun. We have a mother and daughter who are getting baptized on the 30th of December and we wanted to help the daughter feel welcome in the ward so we decided to call around to all the parents that have daughters in the same primary class. As we were calling we started talking to this lady who was going through a really hard time. Her son has cancer and is going into surgery soon and so we were able to set up this big party for him with all of his favorite stuff. Then she asked me to describe the new girl who is getting baptized. I started to describe her and she started bawling. She said, "Elder, do you realize what you just said?" I said, No.  She said, "you literally described my daughter exactly." Then she told me that her daughter has been waiting for six months and has been praying for someone to move into the ward that she could be friends with. She even fasted last month even though it is super hard for her to do. It was the craziest miracle. They saw each other at church and they sat next to each other and are best friends. It is awesome.

This week we also went caroling and it was super fun. We visited a lot of the people that we thought would need a pick me up to show that we cared about them. I mean what's better than people coming over and caroling to you?  To see their faces light up and see them laugh it was the best.

This week I have gotten sooo close with the members and they are seriously like family. I love them so much and we have gained so much trust from the bishop.  We were getting along soooo well, but I knew that transfers were coming up and I did not want to leave, so when I got the email that I was going to Idabel and Dequeen, I was shocked. I am super excited though. I looked where it was on the map and it is the farthest part of the mission--the north east corner. Idabel is in Oklahoma and Dequeen is in Arkansas. I'm so excited, but I'm going to miss the people in Grand Prairie.  I heard that there are a ton of chickens up there and a lot of people that play basketball on the streets, and a lot of Polynesian people. It is literally the perfect place for me. I'm pumped. My new companion is Elder Salmon. I haven't met him yet, but I bet he's awesome.

This week I realized how important it is to get to know everyone and not just say hi, but to actually get to know them.

I love Christmas and the amazing spirit and light there is during the month of December.  I love you guys. Go and serve others and help others and keep reading the Book of Mormon.

MERRY CHRiSTMAS.
