One month down--SUPER COOL week!
This week has been a super good week. It's been awesome. We had an exchange on Thursday and it was crazy because it was not planned so I had to hurry and get packed. When we woke up I had to drive back to Grand Prairie with Elder Celaya, the new elder I had for the day. He is super cool. We got our day planned out and did our studies and he taught me a lot about how to study Spanish efficiently. Then we did some role plays and went out to find some potential investigators. We knocked doors and if they didn't answer we would knock on the next door and we just kept knocking all the way down the street. It was so awesome. We found so many cool people and we talked to everyone on the street and we handed out 7 Book of Mormons. It was soooo cool. Elder Celaya gave me a lot of confidence and I got to bear my testimony in Spanish a lot, which felt soo good. It was a big boost for me and the spirit was so strong.
Then in the evening there was the Spanish ward trunk or treat and it was so cool. Everyone was having a blast and it was so fun. Hispanic people are soo sooo nice. Then someone from our ward walked up to us. She had a friend with her who wanted to know more about the Book of Mormon and wanted to know about the church. We went in the church and taught her and answered her questions and taught her about the restoration and it was amazing. We gave her a Book of Mormon. It was a super cool experience.
The next day we had a appointment like 20 min out of the way and we didn't have a car and the bikes are broken so we had to walk. It took forever and it was freezing, which was weird. Dallas has been freezing lately. It took two hours but we talked to everyone we saw on the way. It was super cool. We were in the hood. It was so ghetto. It was crazy, we thought we were going to get shot, but we met the most humble people and met a lot of new investigators that will hopefully follow through on their word with lessons and calling us.
We met these two kids and they were 16 and 18 and we got talking to them and they thought it was crazy that we go and serve the Lord for two years. We got their numbers and are going to set up a big basketball game. Hopefully it works out.
On Sunday the Foreign Figures came to our Spanish ward and apparently they are a big band and so that was cool. ha ha But this guy called us later that day and said I need to talk to you guys, I'm going through a really hard time. The missionaries have been teaching him but he never was really interested until his grandpa died and now he is really struggling. We went over and comforted him and I bore my testimony in Spanish and it felt really good. We invited him to be baptized and he wants to and so on the 2nd of December is our baptismal date.
There have been a lot of miracles and a lot of new people and a lot of cool things happening here in Grande Prairie. It's awesome.
I love you guys.
Keep reading and praying--it will change your life.
