Grand Prairie Texas. First Stop.
Heyyy, I made it through my first week in the mission field. It's crazy haha It's sooo much different that the MTC. I feel like I know no Spanish at all.
So my first area is Grand Prairie and it's pretty cool. Dallas is a pretty place and a lot different than Utah, but I like it. It's not hot right now, but it's really humid. haha Everyone is telling me I came at the right time because it's perfect weather this week.
It has been a super long week. The days are really long right now. Me and my comp got doubled into an area, which means we are both new to the area and don't know anything about the area so it's been interesting. We are trying to figure everything out and the Elders before us lost our monthly calendar so we had no food for the first few days and I was starving. I felt like I was fasting for like three days.
The people here speak superrrrr fast!! Haha It's crazy. I don't know what they are saying most of the time. The area we are in is a Spanish area and an English area so we go to two wards on Sunday. We had 6 hours of church yesterday. haha It felt soo long. I've never been to that much church in my life, haha, but it was good.
President Dalton is really cool, and his wife too. They are both awesome.
This week has been cool. We have have a lot of study time and we have met a lot of new people. The Hispanic people are sooooo nice and friendly. I love them. We have lessons planned out for this week and I'm excited to get teaching them. I can't wait. Last week we were trying to get everything figured out. Our mission president wants us to find one new investigator a day and that's our goal.
My comp is a cool guy for the most part. He is super smart and knows everything. I feel dumb and like I know nothing about the church because he corrects me on everything, so I have just been trying to be patient. Everything I try to say in Spanish he corrects me, but I'll get through it. He's just trying to help me and I get that. I'm really scared when I try to speak Spanish now and my confidence with Spanish has dropped, but it's all good.
I've been studying hard and trying my best. I'm almost done with the Book of Mormon again and I'm excited about that.
I've had a few Mexican meals and they are super good. I love the food.
I'm a little under the weather this week and have a cough and runny nose, but I'm feeling good and I'm ready to keep plugging along.
That's so awesome you are going to Hawaii. That makes me really happy. That is soo crazy Tatum is getting married this week. Dad looks really good. Has he lost some weight? That is so funny that you took pictures with our cardboard heads. haha That made my day. I have 2 doses left and am feeling good health-wise.
How are Melanie and lizzie and Emma and the rest of the cousins? How is Lulu? I miss you guys.
Love,
Wyatt William Frampton
