Blessings in Disguise
This week has been a good one, even though a lot of people have been closing doors in our faces and a lot of people are not interested in our message, Their famous line is, "I already know Jesus." haha It's hilarious.
This week me and Elder Salmon had the opportunity to go to this ladies house to give her a blessing. She is blind in one of her eyes because of a crazy allergic accident to some medicine the doctor gave her so we went over there. She was awesome. She and I get along really well and when we asked her who do you want to give you the blessing? She said "I prayed about it before you got here" then she pointed at me and said "I want you to give me the blessing." It was crazy. I was stunned. Afterwards she grabbed my hand and said, "You have a special gift. Remember to always pray to the Lord for help." I was like, "Thank you," but in my head I was in shock. haha
I want to share a cool experience that my comp had. We had been trying to teach people the whole night and noone was home. We were both feeling down and were about to get into the car and my companion said, "I'm feeling that house." So I was like, "Sweet, let's go." We knocked on his door and this guy let us in. He is the most solid person I have met. He loved our message and he just wants his family to be close to Christ. He said, "You know I have always thought there was something more than just The Bible." We were in awe. He is super pumped to read The Book of Mormon and really wants us to come back and teach him, and also his wife. It was such a miracle. We said goodbye to him and walked out the door, then waited until we were out of view before we started freaking out! haha It was awesome.
Then later that night we visited some Marshallese families and wow, are they amazing! They cooked us chicken. Then the next house we went to they gave us Taco Bell. Why can't more people be like the Marshallese? haha
This week I have been thinking about blessings in disguise and how a lot of times we wonder why things are happening to us. Then one day we realize how much we have changed from those trials and how much we have grown and how when we have trials we truly stop and think about life and how we come closer to Christ and become even happier than we were before. haha It's amazing how Christ works.
This week I bore my testimony during Fast Sunday and shared the story about how my right leg was an inch shorter than my left leg and then I broke my right femur bone and then it was 2 inches shorter. I didn't know why that happened to me. It seemed so unfair. But then the doctor told me that when you break a bone it actually can spur growth and my right leg ended up growing 2 inches and my legs are now the same length. Sometimes the Lord allows us to have hard things happen to us so that we can grow and learn and become STRONGER. Everyone is so nice up here. People kept coming up to me and saying, "thanks for your testimony," and "Wow, great testimony!" haha Idabel, Oklahoma is the best!
Anyways, love you guys. Keep reading the Book of Mormon and praying everyday.
