MTC Week Numero Uno
Hey guys, it's my first p-day. I miss you guys and I can't believe it has already been 4 days in the MTC as an Elder. It's been crazy. The first day I came in they started talking in Spanish. We have 8 elders and 2 sisters in our district and they are all really cool, but me and another elder are the only two that have not taken any Spanish before (all the rest have taken 4 years of Spanish) so we don't know what's going on right now. We are learning sooo much stuff everyday and I don't know how to take it in. We do 3 hours of Spanish everyday. Literally all we do is wake up, get ready for the day, eat breakfast, then go and learn Spanish for 3 hours. Then we go have an hour of personal study. Then we go to lunch. Then we have an hour with our companion to study, then go to a class where there is an investigator. We listen to his story and think about what to say to this person depending on what they say.
It was really cool the first day when we walked in. All the elders you walk past say "Welcome elder!" and it's really cool. It makes you feel good. My companion is elder Denbeur. He is a stud. He is seriously a really nice guy and we get along and he is really good at Spanish.
For me Spanish is coming slowly because there is so much stuff being taught, but I'm gonna be patient about it.
The MTC food is actually good but they serve the same food so I'm kind of getting tired of it and it's only been 4 days. ha ha But it's all good. These past 4 days we have learned a lot about what a missionary's purpose is and it;s been cool. On Friday we taught are first investigator and it was an interesting experience. I said the prayer in Spanish, but I looked at the paper cause I don't know how to say it in Spanish yet ha ha I asked the investigator some questions in Spanish and I had a hard time understanding what he was saying. My comp bore his testimony in Spanish and then he said "My comp also has a testimony of Jesus Christ and so I tried to bear my testimony in Spanish, but I was struggling so i just started to bear my testimony in English because the spirit hit me as I started to bear my testimony and I could feel the spirit soooo strong. The investigator started to get teary eyed. It was a really cool experience even though I couldn't do it in Spanish.
The days are long, but they have been awesome and I love it even though its hard. I know I will learn the language. There are a ton of people here that I know and it's awesome. I miss you guys. Keep sending me letters and praying for me. The elders in my dorm are awesome. I like to make them laugh and keep things going.
I love you guys and I am excited for the weeks to come.
Elder Wyatt William Frampton
